What is a link in bio?
"Link in bio" means the one clickable link on a social profile. Creators use it so followers can open shops, videos, bookings and more from a single address.

A one-sentence definition
A link in bio is the website address on a social profile that opens either one destination or a small page listing several destinations — for example bio.nexl.ink/your-name.
Social profile → one link → many destinations
Most apps limit how many profile links you can show. A link-in-bio page turns that one address into an ordered list of buttons so a post can say “link in bio” instead of updating the profile every time.
Where to find the link
Open the creator’s profile by tapping their name or profile photo. Look near the short description of their account for a website address or link title. A profile may show a single destination or a group of links. Open the relevant one to reach the page the creator mentioned in their post.
A link in a caption and a link saved to a profile are separate placements. If you cannot find the destination, check the creator’s latest instructions. The link may have changed since the post was published.
A profile link can open one destination or a link page
You can send visitors straight to a product, article, booking calendar or your existing website. A link-in-bio tool instead creates a small page with several destinations behind one address, such as bio.nexl.ink/your-name. That example is a placeholder for the username you choose when publishing a NexLink page.
For example, a musician might link to a new release, tour tickets and a booking email. A coach might offer an introduction, a booking page and a free resource. Visitors choose the destination that matches the post they saw. See our fictional example layouts for different ways to arrange those links.
Choose between your website and a separate link page
Link directly to your website when it already answers the visitor’s question. For a post promoting one product, the product page may be the clearest destination. A separate link page gives visitors a choice, but also asks them to take another step.
A link page is useful when your destinations live on different services, or when several recent posts promote different things. You can keep the profile address while updating the destinations behind it. Check that older posts still have a useful route to the content they describe.
Platforms set their own profile-link rules. Meta documents up to five profile links without Meta One (and up to 20 with Meta One) in its help article (checked October 2026). TikTok’s website-link guidance describes eligibility requirements. A link-page service cannot unlock a missing website field on your social account.
Decide what to put on your page
- Use a recognizable name, photo and short description so visitors know whose page they opened.
- Put the destination from your current post near the top, with a specific label such as “Listen to the new EP”.
- Keep regular destinations, such as your shop or booking page, easy to find.
- Remove expired offers and check that each destination opens correctly on a phone.
Start with the links visitors need today. A page’s capacity is a limit, rather than a target to fill. Browse NexLink template recipes for sample link orders you can recreate in the editor.
How to create and share a NexLink page
- Create a NexLink account and add your name, photo and bio.
- Add your destinations with clear button labels and arrange them in order of importance.
- Choose a theme, preview the page on a phone and publish with an available username.
- Copy the published URL into your social profile’s website field, then open it from that profile to test the complete journey.
